Jing Wong is a singer-songwriter & theatre-maker. As a multi-passionate artist, he blends music, poetry and stagecraft to tell emotionally-resonant stories.

After graduating in Theatre Design from London's Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design with First Honours, Jing earned an MA in Theatre Directing from London Central School of Speech & Drama.

In 2006, he co-founded Theatre-Fashion label Daydream Nation with his sister Kay Wong, where he designed story-driven collections that sold worldwide, and directed theatrical catwalks for London Fashion Week in venues such as the Institute of Contemporary Art.

Jing’s music career took off when he was discovered by Hong Kong music legend Anthony Wong Yiu Ming, who signed him to his indie label People Mountain People Sea, leading to the release of his first live album + EP in December 2012. He went on to release English EP ‘How to Disappear’ and Chinese EP ‘生活的小偷’ in 2015 under his own independent label Mr Nightingale.

He was the opening act for Belle & Sebastian, Kings of Convenience and Andrew Bird in their Hong Kong tour, and played the main stage at Music Festivals such as Clockenflap, Wow & Flutter and Freespace. He has toured 30 cities in China, and was invited to play in Adelaide's OZAsia Festival in 2016, and Seoul’s Zandari Festival and PAMS Festival in 2017.

Jing’s music style is an eclectic blend of Blues, Folk and Rock, with singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan and Damien Rice, and bands like White Stripes and Black Key being among his main influences. His song ‘You are in everything I do’ was the theme song of film director Heiward Mak’s ‘EX’, and ‘Through the dark glass’ appeared in award-winning film director Ann Hui’s movie “ALL ABOUT LOVE”.

Jing is currently signed to Frenzi Music. His latest EP ‘A Spy in the House of Love’ was released in 2018, and marked a return to his theatrical roots with a solo performance at the Hong Kong Arts Centre.
